Rebels football coach praises ‘vast improvement’
The Stephens County Middle School Rebels football team came up a little short to Rabun County last Thursday at home, 25 to 22.
Rebel Coach Matt Miller said he was proud of the effort and the vast improvement from week 1 to week 2.
The Rebels lost their opener on the road at Franklin County, 24 to 0.
Offense leaders were Branson Stowe who passed for 195 yards and 3 touchdowns—Duke Collins caught 2 of those and Kaiden Harbin had 1.
Defensively, Estavious Scott had 9 tackles, Dawson Brown and Zadin Oglesby each had 7 tackles each.
Oglesby also had a fumble recovery.
The Rebels will travel to the Granite Bowl in Elberton to play Elbert County this tomorrow, with kickoff at 5:30 p.m.
