Rebels 8th Grade Teams Get Wins

The Stephens County Middle School 8th grade girls and boys basketball teams picked up wins Tuesday evening over Madison County.

The 8th grade girls picked up their 2nd win of the season downing Madison 25-19. Makiya Knox led the Lady Rebels with 8 points, Constance Brown had 6, My’Angel Carter 5, Kiara Lopez 4, and Myllazia Pope 2.

The SCMS 8th grade boys ran their record to 9-2 on the season with a 50-37 win over Madison County. The Rebels were led by AJ Russell with 12 points, Corey Richey had 9, 6 each from Cameron Lacey, Ben Stowe, and Anthony Harrison, Evan Dumaine had 5, Aaron Scott 3, Cornelius Curry 2, and Navy Ott 1.

Madison County took both of the 7th grade contests. In the girls game, Madison County defeated Stephens County 34-20. Jaziyah Harbin led the Lady Rebels with 6 points, Dariyah Bell had 5,Aurora Elrod 4, Carson Stowe 3, and JoAnna Alzen 2. The 7th grade Lady Rebels are now 4-7 on the season.

In the 7th grade boys contest, Madison County used strong 2nd and 3rd quarters to win 41-29. SCMS was led by Javin Gordon with a game high 14 points, Colby Fowler had 7, Andrew Keown, Devin Cobb and Cooper Dean had 2 each, and 1 each from Ethan Smith and Evan Lerma. The Rebels 7th grade boys are now 5-6 on the season.

Stephens County Middle School will travel to Elbert County for games this evening.
