Qualifying for Town of Martin’s Municipal Election is coming up

Stephens County Election Supervisor April Roberts announces qualifying for the Town of Martin’s 2021 Municipal Election.

Roberts says qualifying for the municipal election will run from August 16 through the 18, at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. each day.

To qualify, you must be 21 years of age on or before the date of Election, November 2, 2021.

You must be a resident of the Town of Martin for one year immediately prior to the date of the election.

Those qualifying for the position of Town Council shall file a Notice of Candidacy and pay a qualifying fee of $90.

Additionally, Roberts says all persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to vote for the General Election may register to vote through close of business on October 4, 2021.

Early voting will be held at 37 W. Tugalo Street, in Toccoa, from October 11 through October 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and on Saturdays October 16, and October 23, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

To vote on election day, polls will open at 7 a.m. and run until 7 p.m. November 2.

Roberts adds that should a runoff election be required, the runoff will be held on November 30, 2021.
