Public invited to Northeast Georgia Poverty Round Table

A group of community partners and agencies will be coming together on Wednesday to discuss addressing poverty in our region.

The Northeast Georgia Poverty Round Table will begin promptly at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18.

According to Salvation Army of Toccoa’s Social Worker Brenda Gragg the group is made up of community partners and agencies from surrounding counties who have come together to create a plan to reduce poverty in our area.

The group is comprised of individuals from Habersham, White, Stephens, Banks and Rabun counties.

According to Gragg this group meets on a regular basis, to plan the most effective way to address families and individuals who are facing challenges and need help and guidance towards their path to self-sufficiency.

Gragg says the meeting is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to participate.

Again, The Northeast Georgia Poverty Round table is being held at the Salvation Army of Toccoa, located at 306 E. Franklin Street, in Toccoa, on Wednesday, at 10 a.m.
