Public encouraged to attend Thursday’s virtual meeting for Toccoa Comprehensive Plan

As the City of Toccoa prepares to update the City Comprehensive Plan, this week, the public is encouraged to attend a virtual meeting to get citizen input on the direction they’d like the city to go.

According to Main Street Manager Christian Hamilton, in March 2021, the City of Toccoa began the five-year update to the City Comprehensive Plan which will determine the future direction of community endeavors.

The plan, according to Hamilton, makes use of community feedback garnered from surveys and public hearings, and this feedback will be incorporated into the fabric of the overarching plan, as well as in a specific section detailing survey results.

On Thursday, April 29, there will be an online meeting available for the general public, beginning at 4 p.m.

This meeting will be conducted via Zoom.

For the meeting access details, Hamilton asks that you email Connie Tabor at [email protected].

At this meeting, staff will walk viewers through the draft document, review recommendations, and inform citizens on how to submit comments and questions.

Additionally, City staff would like community members to consider taking a five-minute online survey.

The survey can be accessed at surveymonkey.com/r/ToccoaGA.

If you prefer to take the survey physically, please contact Tabor by phone at 706-282-3232 to make arrangements to receive a hardcopy.
