Power Outage at Davidson Lake Could Be A Problem

There are still numerous power outages in this area of Northeast Georgia and one of those is of the utmost importance to the City of Toccoa. “There are some power outages in some of our water and wastewater facilities that is not a problem short term, but could be a problem long term” says Toccoa City Manager Billy Morse; “We are working with Habersham EMC to get the power turned on more specifically at Davidson Lake. That is the lake that we pump to Lake Toccoa and that is pretty critical to our operation.”

Morse tells WNEG News why it is so important to get the power back on at Davidson Lake.
“ Lake Toccoa is a holding pond-a reservoir to what we pump everyday out of Davidson. Without natural rain to fill up Lake Toccoa we have to use Lake Davidson. Eventually we would use all of the water at Lake Toccoa so we definitely need Davidson as a resource.”

Morse says that they have a little time, but not much, and really need the power back on soon.
“I would imagine we have a few days, but without rain water not much more.”
