Positive cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Georgia

The Covid-19 positive numbers keep rising in the state of Georgia.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health just over 10,000 more cases have been reported since Thursday bringing the total to 443,822. Of those with positive cases, just over 900 have been hospitalized in the last five days bringing that total to 36,039, and 173 more died from complications of the virus bringing that total to 8,971.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 1,629 positive cases of Covid-19, and still 45 deaths in Stephens County since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Sunday afternoon.

Stephens County School System Covid-19 Update for the week ending December 4th includes:

14 staff members with a positive Covid-19 test.

9 staff members quarantined at home.

95 students quarantined at home.

2 students with a positive Covid-19 test.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, these are the current numbers as of December 4, 2020 and is not a running total.

The latest report now has Habersham County with 82 deaths and a total of 2,496 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Rabun County is still reporting 12 deaths and now 651 cases, Hart County is still reporting 20 deaths and now 794 cases, Franklin County is still reporting 19 deaths and now 1,242 positive cases,  and Banks County is still reporting 12 deaths, and 827 cases.
