Positive Case Number Down Again Across Area

The latest DPH Report for the six county area of Stephens, Habersham, Franklin, Hart, Rabun, and Banks is showing an increase of only 5 positive cases of Covid-19, but one death.

This is the second straight day that the number of positive cases in the area totaled less than 10.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting a total of 71 deaths in Stephens County with 2,868 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Thursday afternoon.

Rabun County is now reporting an additional death bringing the total to 37, and now 1,439 positive cases of the virus.

The latest report still has Habersham County reporting  138 deaths, and ten less positive cases recorded for a total now of 4,534 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County still has a total of 37 deaths and now 2,277 positive cases of the virus, Hart County is now reporting 1,656 cases and 35 deaths, and Banks County is still reporting 33 deaths and 1,559 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there were 1,796 cases reported since Wednesday for a total now of 824,804 positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those 143 more were hospitalized bringing that total now to 56,512, and 113 more died bringing the total death count due to complications of the virus to 15,462.
