Police Chief says death of man in Toccoa park not suspicious

Few details have been released regarding the body found at a park in Stephens County.

As WNEG News previously reported, the body of 49-year-old Barrett Cash was found in the Emory Johnson Park on Whitman Street, in Toccoa, Christmas morning.

The Stephens County Coroner’s Office released the identity of the man shortly after the body was found.

Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize tells WNEG News that it wasn’t a suspicious death and that they don’t suspect foul play; however, they have sent the body to the crime lab in Atlanta for an autopsy.

No other details have been released at this time.
