Planning continues for Hwy 123 repair

A DOT official says the section of collapsed U-S 123 roadside, between Westminster and Georgia, has been deemed an emergency repair project, and preliminary planning work is underway.

Alan Adams, resident construction engineer for the Department of Transportation, said Monday morning, “We are on the phone trying to get utilities to relocate and I will update you as soon as I have more information.”

Meantime, motorists continue to navigate a detour in the vicinity of Tabor, Dixon and Singleton roads.

Last week’s washout disabled an 8” Westminster water line—forcing city crews to scramble to restore service to affected customers.
