Phillips appointed to Stephens County Development Authority Board

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners received two recommendations to fill Chuck Wright’s unexpired term on the Stephens County Development Authority Board.

Wright who was recently elected to the Stephens County Board of Commissioners has to give up his seat on the Development Authority Board in order to serve in this new capacity.

Commissioner Chris Rickman recommended Rick Phillips fill the unexpired term.

Wright recommended Jeremy Spradlin for the seat.

“I have a recommendation too for Jeremy Spradlin. I support whatever the board’s decision is; but Jeremy represents Georgia Power, he attends our meetings. He does a lot of after hour stuff with the President Brittany Ivey and when we have prospects coming in, he stakes out the property boundaries as well as potential building sites. And he done really well. A Georgia Power representative is always going to be there when a prospect business comes in because they always have power questions,” Wright said.

Chairman Dennis Bell asked for a vote for Phillips and then a vote for Spradlin.

Phillips was appointed to the Development Authority Board 4-1 with Wright voting for Spradlin.
