Pair arrested following overdose

A recent overdose leads to the arrests and discovery of illicit narcotics, firearms and stolen property in Toccoa.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, on October 23, law enforcement officials responded to a call for service for an overdose that occurred at 201 West Doyle Street, in Toccoa.

During the investigation, the Toccoa Police Department, Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, and Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office executed a search warrant at 201 West Doyle Street.

Shirley says law enforcement officials identified Ty Landon Herring and Krisha Nations at the residence.

Both Herring and Nations were arrested and face several charges.

49-year-old Herring was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, theft by receiving a stolen firearm, theft by receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine.

30-year-old Nations was charged with possession of heroin and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

The pair were booked into and are being housed at the Stephens County Jail.
