Ouida Faye (Evans) Forbus

Ouida Faye (Evans) Forbus, age 83, of Toccoa, Georgia, passed away peacefully, Monday, November 27,2023 at her residence.

Born January 24,1940 in Elmore County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Marshall A and Ruby (Davis) Evans.  Ouida was a graduate of Eclectic High School in Elmore County, Alabama.  She resided in Wetumpka, Alabama until 1973 when she and her family moved to Lorain, Ohio.  While in Ohio, Ouida was the owner of an antique and interior design shop in Elyria and Avon for over 30 years with her best friend and business partner, Charlotte A Smith.  She enjoyed selling antiques at different malls across Ohio. Ouida was a member of Broadway Assembly in Lorain, OH where she was the pianist for over 30 years.  She also played at Bethel Holiness in Toccoa, GA until recently.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Ouida was preceded in death by her loving husband, James W. Forbus, her parents and her two brothers, Herman and Gerald Evans.

Ouida is survived by her children… son Michael (Susan) Forbus of Pike Road, Alabama, daughter Bonnye (David) Sielken of Toccoa, Georgia, son Alan (Pamela) Forbus of Naples, Florida, fifteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, with two more arriving next year.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Gassett Funeral Home on Saturday December 2,2023 at 11AM with the Reverend Joseph Ganze and the Reverend Curtis Phillips officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Gassett Funeral Home in Wetumpka, Alabama one hour before the service time.

The following gentlemen (grandsons) will serve as pallbearers: Reed Forbus, Evan Forbus, Gabriel Forbus, Joshua Sielken, Stephen Black, Andrew Payne, Jason Nichols and Daniel Hernandez. The Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Forbus and Lionel Decius (grandsons unable to attend) Malachi Ganze, Levi Payne, Gavin Nichols, Leo Decius, Jeremy Payne and Mannon Finley (great-grandsons)

Interment will follow in the Grier Chapel Cemetery in Wetumpka, Alabama.
