Open Mic Monday returns for 2nd season

Open Mic Monday is returning to the Historic Ritz Theatre at Schafer Center in downtown Toccoa.
Ritz Theatre General Manager Danita Gaudette recently announced that the second season of Open Mic Monday is slated to begin Sept. 17 and will continue the third Monday of each month through the grand finale in January 2019.
After a successful first year of Open Mic Mondays, the Ritz Theatre brings the popular event back to the many talented residents of Stephens and surrounding counties.
Gaudette told WNEG News that the first 12 performers can sign up by email at [email protected] or you can sign up at the Historic Ritz Theatre, before 6:30 p.m., on the evening of the show.
Only musical acts are eligible and contestants will play two songs or perform for 10 minutes, whichever comes first.
The winning performer will get a paid gig as the opening act for the first Ida Cox Music Series performance in June 2019.
Winners from each of the four Open Mic Mondays will be invited back for a ‘Final 4’ competition on Jan. 21, where the ultimate Open Mic Monday winner will be determined.
The remaining dates are Oct. 15, Nov. 19, and Dec. 17.
