Only Slight Rise in Latest Covid Numbers

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 69 COVID-related deaths in Stephens County with 2,811 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Wednesday afternoon.

The latest report still has Habersham County with 133 deaths and now 4,500 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County is reporting a death bringing the total to 36 and now 2,224 positive cases, Rabun County is now reporting 1,402 cases and still 34 deaths, Hart County is reporting 1,616 cases and still 34 deaths, and Banks County is still reporting 30 deaths and now 1,515 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there were just over 2,000 more positive cases since Tuesday for a total now of 796,547 cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those, 222 more were hospitalized for a total of 53,880 that have been hospitalized and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 14,254.
