Update: One Injured in Morning Wreck on Big A Road

One person was injured in a wreck Wednesday morning in Toccoa.

It happened just before 10 a.m. at the intersection of Big A Road and East Currahee St involving a black pickup truck and red sedan.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize the accident happened when Mary Ella Taylor, 44, of Henrico, Virginia failed to yield while making a left hand turn onto GA SR 17 Alt.

Taylor’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of the vehicle driven by Pamela Wilson Watts, 57, of Clarkesville.

In the report, released by the Toccoa Police Department, Taylor is cited as admitting to turning out in-front-of Watts’ vehicle.

Mize says that Taylor was issued a citation for failure to yield.

Watts was transported to Stephens County Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. As of this report, no word on the condition of her injuries.
