Oberst to Bring Grizzard to Toccoa

The Historic Ritz Theatre and Friends of the Ritz will be hosting a special program tomorrow night.

Actor Bill Oberst Jr’s widely acclaimed “Lewis Grizzard: In His Own Words” takes the stage tomorrow night at 7 P.M.

Oberst’s portrayal of the Southern writer and humorist is a one-man show authorized by Grizzard’s family. This two-act performance features Grizzard’s best-loved stories and jokes, along with some poignant and funny readings from his books and newspaper columns. Grizzard, a diehard Georgia Bulldogs fan, was the most widely syndicated columnist in America for 15 years until his death in 1994, appearing in 450 daily newspapers.

The Friends of the Ritz tell WNEG that only a handful of tickets remain, and they anticipate this show will be a sellout. Tickets are available at ritztheatretoccoa.com.
