NWS issues weather briefing warning of heavy rain and isolated storms

The National Weather Service has issued a briefing regarding possible heavy rain and isolated storms throughout the day and into the night.

According to the weather briefing, the remnants of Beta will gradually move over the area throughout the day today.

Chances of showers and isolated thunderstorms will be high; as the system moves east of our area Friday night.

Rainfall will generally range from 1 to 2 inches, with areas of flash flooding possible.

Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible during the day today, mainly along and east of Elberton, Georgia to Monroe, North Carolina.

Additionally, damaging winds and an isolated tornado are possible.
