NGHS Earns High Ratings From Newsweek for Workplace Diversity

Residents in northeast Georgia have long recognized the outstanding quality of Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS), and now Newsweek has ranked NGHS as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity for 2024.

The award recognizes organizations that respect and value individuals from different backgrounds and walks of life, and NGHS earned the highest possible rating – five out of a possible five stars – on the list of large employers with more than 5,000 employees. Other companies named to the list include Delta, The Home Depot, Southern Company, 3M and General Electric.

“Not only do our employees thrive where their differences are respected, but our patients benefit as well,” said Diane Poirot, chief human resources officer for Northeast Georgia Health System. “Our people are certainly our greatest asset, and that’s especially true in health care where our work is so human-focused.”

To conduct its research, Newsweek partnered with research firm Plant-A Insights to interview human resource professionals, review publicly available data and conduct an anonymous online survey of employees.

NGHS currently employs more than 11,000 individuals at five hospitals and dozens of other locations across the region. To learn more, visit nghs.com.
