New Library Manager at Toccoa-Stephens County Library

One week ago today, Justin Haynes stepped into the role of Manager at the Toccoa-Stephens County Public Library.

As reported by WNEG News, Leslie Allen announced her resignation from the position in late August.

Haynes makes the lateral move to Toccoa from the Helen Library. He started his library career at the Cornelia Library prior to moving to the Helen Library.

He said that he made the move to find new opportunities.

He said that his first impression of the Toccoa-Stephens County Library is that working with the staff is going to be a great part of his job here.

He said he is going to take a few weeks to see what the status quo is before he decides on what, if anything, needs to be changed.

He added that increasing student programs is a future goal for the library.

Haynes closed out his comments, saying he hoped the library could be a community hub, that offering books is just the starting point for a library, especially now when loneliness is a growing problem in this and many other communities.
