NDO opens Water Assistance Program to all income eligible households

Ninth District Opportunity’s Water Assistance Program is now open to anyone who meets the income requirements.

According to Ninth District Opportunity’s Community Resource Coordinator Paula Duley, a one-time payment will be made to the home water supplier on behalf of eligible households.

She says eligibility for the program is based on the income of everyone living in the home, and all eligible households must be responsible for their home water bill.

The annual gross income for a household of 1 is $26,474; for a household of 2 is $34,619; for 3 its $42,765; for 4 its $50,911; for 5 its $59,057; for 6 its $67,203; and for households of 7 its $68,730.

When applying for assistance, the applicant will need to provide the social security number verification for everyone in the home, citizen verification for the applicant, verification of all household income for the past 30 days, and your most recent water bill.

Duley says you must make an appointment prior to receiving assistance.

Appointments can be made by calling 706-886-0211.
