NC Officials warn Georgia residents of armed and dangerous fugitive

On Saturday, the Cherokee County North Carolina Sheriff’s Office issued a warning for Georgia residents regarding a man wanted in relation to kidnapping and robbery charges who they believe is in Georgia. On Sunday, they updated the warning to advise that the man, Jordan Hedden, should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if recognized.

According to information from the Sheriff’s Office, on November 30, 2023, a Cherokee County citizen picked up a male, Jordan Hedden and a female, Stephanie Neace, who were hitchhiking. After entering the vehicle, Hedden allegedly kidnapped the Cherokee County citizen, forcing her into the back passenger area and taking over the operations of the vehicle. Warrants for Hedden and Neace were issued in North Carolina and Tennessee.

Neace was arrested and is in custody in Georgia. On December 2, Hedden allegedly entered a Tennessee residence with a firearm. The firearm was confiscated. Thereafter, Hedden hitchhiked into Georgia. Hedden is still at large and believed to be on the run.

Georgia residents, as well as North Carolina and Tennessee residents, are advised to be on the lookout for Hedden, but cautioned that, if he is spotted, do not attempt to make contact. Call 911 immediately to disclose his appearance and whereabouts.

According to The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, “Hedden is believed to be involved in criminal activity and is believed to pose an immediate threat to public safety.”

Hedden is described as 5’8″ and approximately 130 pounds with green eyes and brown hair and may be traveling on foot or bicycle.
