Multi-agency search for active shooter in county
According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley:
“We have an active shooter who is on the run in a wooded area off Mize Road and Old Mize Road. He is armed and dangerous. Lock your doors. DO NOT GO OUTSIDE. We have K9 and GSP air support on the way.
He is a white male, black hoodie, black sweat pants, running with one red Nike tennis shoe.”
Despite rumors none of the schools are on lockdown according to the assistant Stephens County school superintendent John Stith but some buses have been rerouted due to law enforcement activity. WNEG radio will update when more information is available.
