Ms. Constance “Connie” Marita Wells

Ms. Constance “Connie” Marita Wells, age 73, of Toccoa passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Laurel Lodge Assisted Living and Memory Care in Cleveland, GA.

Born December 5, 1950 in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. “Ed” and Virginia Smith Wells.

Ms. Wells was a retired CPA from Walker, Pierce and Tuck, and was a member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church where she was choirmaster and organist for 27 years.  She was also a concert musician, playing the bassoon.  She played for the Savannah, Macon, Gainesville and Toccoa Symphonies for a number of years.  She graduated from Granby High School in 1968 and from Vassar College in 1972.  She received a Master’s degree from the University of New York at Stony Brook.

Family members include her brothers, David L. Wells (Karen) of Agawam, MA and Frederick “Fred” P. Wells (Mihee) of Hopewell Junction, NY; friend, Connie Gaines of Toccoa; nephew, Aydin Wells; and niece, Ester Wells.

The family will host a Celebration of Life service on Thursday, May 9^th, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Parrish Hall at St. Matthias Episcopal Church.
