Mrs. Louise Wiggins

Mrs. Louise Wiggins, age 95, of Toccoa, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at her daughter’s home.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, June 12, 1926, to Wilbur and Helen (Baltzell) Reams.  At the age of 13 she was born again while attending a tent meeting in Cleveland, Ohio.  Louise graduated from high school in 1944 and attended Chicago Evangelistic Institute and Taylor University, and married her “one and only boyfriend” Herbert Wiggins, on August 29, 1947.  She often said, “He was the one for me; God’s choice.”  Louise served alongside her husband of 60 years as a faithful pastor’s wife in Ohio, Michigan, Nebraska, Minnesota, Connecticut, and Georgia. She loved being a pastor’s wife, teaching Sunday School classes for children through adults.  She taught Boys and Girls Clubs in the public schools and served as district president of WMPF (Alliance Women) in several districts.  She and her husband retired to Toccoa in 1987 and she taught for six years at Meadowbrook Preschool.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose life clearly evidenced her love and faith in God.  Her constant desire was that Jesus would be seen in her life.  All of her children have followed her example in serving the Lord.

She dearly loved her family and is survived by five children:  son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Don and Linda Wiggins of Carver, Minnesota; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Joel and Kathy Wiggins of Durham, North Carolina; daughter, Mrs. Janice Greenfield of Guadalajara, Mexico; daughter, Mrs. Joyce Griffin of Toccoa, Georgia; and son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Jonathan and Lori Wiggins of Billings, Montana; 16 grandchildren and 40 great-children.  She is survived by one brother-in-law, David Petrie, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Herbert Wiggins; son, James Dean Wiggins; sister, Ann Petrie and son-in-law, Rev. Timothy Greenfield.

Funeral services will be held at the First Alliance Church of Toccoa on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.  The family will receive friends preceding the memorial service at the church at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Great Commission Fund, Christian & Missionary Alliance. Cmalliance.org

In her words: “this is not a funeral but a celebration of life complete in Him. . . as a testimony of what God does in a life; a life not without hard things and pain, but filled with joy, peace and love in Jesus Christ.”

Interment will be in Cleveland, Ohio, February 28, 2022.
