Mrs. Leila Cantrell

Mrs. Leila Estelle Pace Cantrell, age 81, of Toccoa, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at her home.

 

Born August 22, 1942 in Stephens County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Eulala Wilbanks Pace.

 

Mrs. Cantrell was a lunchroom cook in Stephens County and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.  She loved spending time with her family.  A few of her hobbies included watching the Braves, watching game shows and quilting.

 

Family members include her husband, James Cantrell of the home; daughter, Tammy Doyle (Adam) of Eastanollee; grandchildren, James Simpson, Hannah Thompson (David), and Samantha Clark (Jarrett); great-grandsons, Elliott Thompson and Wyatt Thompson; sister, Ruth Welborn (Ed); nephew, Brian Pace; niece, Robin Bridges (Chris); great-niece, Beige Pickert (Thomas); great-nephews, Chad Bridges (Andrea) and Cody Simpson (Margie); and many other nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Pace, and niece, Teresa Simpson.

 

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 1pm until the service time Sunday, April 28, 2024.

 

Funeral services will be held at three o’clock Sunday, April 28, 2024 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Mike Petty officiating.

 

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

 

Chris Bridges, Chad Bridges, Cody Simpson, Jarrett Clark, David Thompson and Brian Pace will serve as pallbearers.
