Mrs. Judy Westmoreland Whitworth

Mrs. Judith “Judy” Zemily Westmoreland Whitworth, age 73, of Toccoa, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born December 12, 1948 in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Marvin and Maida Collier Westmoreland. She attended First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Grace Sunday School Class.

She graduated Toccoa High School in 1966. She was a teacher assistant at Eastanollee Elementary, worked in the Library at Stephens County Middle School, and owned and operated Ms. Laura’s Daycare for 10 years. She loved all those babies like they were her own. Before retirement, she worked at the Toccoa Public Library.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She put them all first before anything else in her life. She was very sweet and caring to everyone she knew and met.

Family members include her husband of 57 years, Frank Whitworth of Toccoa; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa W. and Shane Barrett of Toccoa, and Laura W. and Marty Sisk of Toccoa; grandchildren, Shelby Sisk and Ben Bridges of Hickory, NC, Cassie C. and Brett Manley of Lavonia, GA, Sydney Sisk of Toccoa, Derek Crunkleton of Toccoa; great-grandchildren, Chant Thorton, Ropyr Manley, Cooper and Bodie Bridges, Raelynn Moody and Emerald Crunkleton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Al and Wanda Westmoreland of Clarkesville, GA, and Tim and Tressa Westmoreland of Toccoa; sister-in-law Brenda Westmoreland; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Collier Westmoreland.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 4pm – 7pm Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the Toccoa First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brenda Westmoreland and the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Tony Crunkleton, Bill Turner, Jeff Webb, John Westmoreland, William Hosea and Kenny Waters.  Jerry Snell, Todd Voyles, Andy Crunkleton, Max Brock, Chris Barrett and Elwin Northcutt will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family wishes to thank the special caregivers of Amedisys Hospice, Eva, Autumn and Angie.

Flowers are optional.  Memorial donations may be made to the Toccoa First United Methodist Church and the Alzheimer’s Association.
