Mrs. Jessie Ivester Keller

Mrs. Jessie Ivester Keller, age 97, of Toccoa, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020 at her home.

Born June 12, 1923 in Stephens County, she was the daughter of the late Milligan Jasper Ivester and Malissa Smith Ivester.

She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Jessie attended school in Rabun County (1937-1942) and was a Tallulah Falls School graduate. She is one of the oldest graduates from Tallulah Falls School. She then graduated from Artistic Beauty School. She worked for Letourneau for a short time where she met her husband, Ralph Keller. Jessie was a former member of Garden Clubs and Quilting Clubs. She loved her family, enjoyed baking cookies for others and working in her flower garden.

Family members include her daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Keller and Dr. James Stackhouse of Goldsboro, NC and June and John Anderson of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Milton and Tammy Keller of Cornelia; step-daughters, Melba Caudell and Elese and Marvin Fortenberry all of Habersham County; grandchildren, Judge Curtis and Beth Stackhouse, Dr. Russell and Erin Stackhouse, Stephen and Sara Stackhouse, Jamie Keller, Anna and Jody Prickett, Katherine Keller, John Anderson, II, Jacqueline and E. C. Bush, Jill and Richard Garrison, Laura and Steve Elrod, Amy and Alan McIntyre, Donna and David Hulsey, and Greg and Tracy Caudell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Mae Ivester and Frank and Jean Ivester; 24 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ralph Keller; sisters, Lola Billingsly Orr and Jean Duncan; brothers, Ralph Ivester, Blondell Ivester, and Marcellus Ivester.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
