Mrs. Frances Turnbull Deitz

Mrs. Frances Turnbull Deitz, age 71 of Toccoa passed away Friday August 4, 2023, at her residence.

A daughter of the late Augustus Bacon Turnbull Jr. and Isabell Walker Turnbull, she was born August 21, 1951, in Stephens County, where she lived all of her life. She was a 1969 graduate of Toccoa High School and a member of the Purple Hurricanes Basketball Team. She was a graduate of North Georgia Technical College. She enjoyed riding horses, spending the weekends at the lake, raising her children, and most importantly loving on and spoiling her grandchildren. Her world revolved around her love for her husband and family. She was as a true example of a Biblical wife and mother. She was loved and adored by all that knew her. She was a member of Providence Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother Augustus Bacon Turnbull III, her mother-in-law Mary Deitz, grandson Zane Grayson Shepard and son-in-law Robert Darren Whitehead.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years Ray Deitz of the home, son and daughter-in-law Frankie and Deanna Deitz, three daughters Sherry Whitehead, Becky Payne and Jenni Shepard and son in law Josh Shepard, all of Toccoa, grandchildren Brett Deitz, Luke Deitz, Drew Deitz, Tucker Payne, Isabella Payne, Jack Shepard, Zoe Shepard and sister-in-law Marjorie Turnbull of Tallahassee, Florida, along with many cousins.

Funeral services will be held Sunday August 6, 2023, at 2 P.M. at Providence Methodist Church with the Reverend Steve McIntrye, the Reverend Ricky McFarlin and the Reverend Garvis Kinsey officiating. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Sunday from noon until 1:30 P.M.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Brett Deitz, Luke Deitz, Tucker Payne, Drew Deitz, Jack Shepard, Josh Shepard, Christian Harris and Christopher Sturm.

The following will serve as honorary pallbearers Isabella Payne, Zoe Shepard and Vanessa Corea

Interment will follow in the Private Family Cemetery on the family property.
