Mrs. Fay Ethel Lipscomb Hardman

Mrs. Fay Ethel Lipscomb Hardman, age 86, of Cleveland, GA, formerly of Toccoa, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Laurel Lodge.

Born January 30, 1937, in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Richard Downing and Lillian Virginia Shepheard Lipscomb.  She was a member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church and was a former Deli Manager at Ingles.  Fay enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, gardening and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She was a wonderful Christian Lady and loved her church.  Fay was also a member of the Daughters of the King at St. Matthias Episcopal Church.

Family members include her husband, James Richard Hardman, Jr.; daughters and a son-in-law, Jean Owens, and Ann and Joe Thacker; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jim Ducebella; son-in-law, Roger Thomas, son-in-law, Bobby Cory; brother-in-law, William Waters; 14 grandchildren, Richard Howell, Sally Simmons, Brandy Floyd, Amanda Smith, Bridgett Henry, Jacob Moore, Nicholas Moore, Rebecca Galvis, Zachary Owens, Isaiah Thacker, Emmalea Thacker, Amy Cory, Isaac Owens, and James Cory; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her daughters, Rebecca Thomas and Mary Cory; and her son-in-law, Robert Owens.

The family will receive friends at St. Matthias Episcopal Church from 10 am until 10:45 am Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the St. Matthias’ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Scott Harding officiating.  Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.  The following grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Isaac Owens, James Cory, Gavin Simmons, Clint Simmons, Richard Howell, and Chandler Howell.
