Mrs. Fannie Holcomb Payne

Mrs. Fannie Holcomb Payne, age 99, of Toccoa, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 at The Wilkinson Care Center in Toccoa.

Born April 13,1924 in Alpharetta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Truman and Mattie Holcomb and was the last of 6 brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Payne was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was a very kind-hearted person that never had an unkind word to say to anybody and if you were having a bad day, she would pat you on the back and always say “it would be better.”  She loved gardening her flowers and working outside.  Spending time with her loved ones and friends brought her joy.  Mrs. Payne loved going to church and was a member at Zebulon Baptist Church and had worked for Harper’s 5 & 10 cent store.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the nurses and staff at The Wilkinson Center and to the staff of Gentiva Hospice.
