Mrs. Betty Grace “Beebe” Turner Whiten

Mrs. Betty Grace “Beebe” Turner Whiten, age 90, of Toccoa passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born July 22, 1933 in Toccoa, she was the daughter of the late John Harrison and Elizabeth Ilone Elrod Turner.  Betty lived all of her life in Stephens County and retired from Coats and Clark as a quiller with 39 years of service.  She enjoyed traveling, working with flowers and gardening.  Betty also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She was a member of Mullins Ford Baptist Church.

Family members include her husband of 64 years, James Preston Whiten; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Gordon Garner; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and April Whiten; grandchildren, Dottie and Brett Ivester, Dylan Garner, Evan Whiten, Marlee Whiten, Chandler Fowler; two great-grandchildren, Brentley Ivester and Emma Grace Ivester; two brothers-in-law, Morris (Ann) Whiten and Kayle Whiten; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Turner; and her sister, Kathryn Stancil.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 12 noon until the funeral hour Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Funeral services will be held two o’clock Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Roger Elrod and the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

Brett Ivester, Dylan Garner, Evan Whiten, Chandler Fowler, Brentley Ivester and Austin Huff will serve as pallbearers.

Flowers are optional.  Memorial donations may be made to Mullins Ford Baptist Church.
