Mrs. Alice Westmoreland Whitlock Burton

Mrs. Alice Westmoreland Whitlock Burton, age 80, of Toccoa, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 at her home.

Born May 28, 1940 in Toccoa, she was the daughter of the late Arris Griffith Westmoreland and the late Sarah Alice Burgess Westmoreland.

She was retired from Coats and Clark and was of the Holiness Faith.  Alice loved singing and fishing.

Family members include her children, Teresa Segars, Alice Yvonne Simpson, Karen Hicks (Mike), and William Ricky Simpson; sister, Mary Burns; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Dwayne Whitlock and her husband Tommy Joe Burton; her son, Irvin Dale Simpson; her sister, Jeanette Taylor; her brothers, Ben Frank Westmoreland, Clarence Westmoreland, Noah Westmoreland, Roy Westmoreland, Bruce Westmoreland, Henry Westmoreland, and Eugene “Gene” Westmoreland.

Funeral services will be held at three o’clock Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Eddie Umberhant officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

Christopher Stephen, Brenton Stephen, Justin Whitlock, Tyler Meeks, Eli Simpson and Mason Kimsey will serve as pallbearers.  Jamie Simpson will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm Monday, June 22, 2020.

Due to the conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, social distancing will be observed.
