Mr. William M. “Max” Sparks

William Max Sparks ~ Sunrise June 21, 1965 ~ Sunset November 5, 2021

 

Mr. William M. “Max” Sparks, age 65, of Toccoa, gained his Angel Wings on Friday, November 5, 2021.

Born June 21, 1956 in Connellsville, PA, he was the son of Leah Rae Wusnack Sparks and the late Max Eugene Sparks.

He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the Scottish Rite in Atlanta, GA.  Max taught Math at Stephens County Middle School and had coached football, basketball, wrestling, and golf.  He was an avid sports fan.  He loved the Clemson Tigers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Max loved his family, his friends, his students, and his SCMS family.  He loved life simple and had a heart of gold.

Family members include his wife, Bonnie Hughes Sparks; son, Kip Sparks; mother, Leah Rae Sparks; his dog Sadie, a companion that was never far from his side; brothers and a sister-in-law, Jerry Sparks and Jeff and Cindy Sparks; sister, Kelly Sparks; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Lainie Hughes; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Fred Williams; a number of nieces and nephews; and his SCMS Family.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 4pm – 6pm Monday, November 8, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at three-thirty Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Sparks and Mr. Fred Williams officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The following Coaches will serve as pallbearers; Chris Bivins, Anthony Daniel, Jason Elliott, Terry Martin, Matt Miller, and Chad Sorrells.
