Mr. William James Vaughn

Mr. William James Vaughn, age 63 of Bart Holcomb Road, Toccoa passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his residence.

A son of the late Maybell Benfield, he was born August 13, 1960 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life.  James had worked with Trogdon Furniture, Coats American until 2003, Lanier Clothing and later with Global Tech where he worked for 12 years before retirement.  James was a member of Carnes Creek Baptist Church and helped with the sound system at the church. James was a Mr. Fix-It and could fix anything. James loved cars, technology, going to the mountains and loved to travel.  James was a loving husband and father and loved his dog, Mazie.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Wanslie Fulbright and by a nephew, Rory Winsor.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Janet Fulbright Vaughn; son, Christopher Vaughan of Toccoa; father-in-law, Charles Fulbright of Toccoa; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tony and Deborah Fulbright of Toccoa; nieces, Crystal Fulbright of Toccoa and Sade (Ryan) Hansen of Sandy Springs, Georgia; two great-nieces, Ava Mosley and Winnie Rose Hansen.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 21, 2024, 2 o’clock p.m. at Carnes Creek Baptist Church with The Reverend Jeff Caudell, The Reverend David Steele and The Reverend Jason Defoor officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Tony Fulbright, Andy Pitts, Phillip Payne, Russell Cheek, Artie Segars, Michael Sorrells and Devin Robbs.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, January 20, 2024, 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Flowers are optional.  Memorials may be made to Carnes Creek Baptist Church, 1655 Carnes Creek Road, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mr. William James Vaughn.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. William James Vaughn.
