Mr. William Anderson “Bill” Proctor, Jr.

Mr. William Anderson “Bill” Proctor, Jr., age 78, of Toccoa, passed away Sunday February 26, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Hospice in Gainesville, GA.

Born October 7, 1944 in Vance County, NC, he was the son of the late William Anderson Proctor, Sr. and Mildred Watkins Proctor.  He was a United States Army Veteran and was a retired Salesman with Gem Chem Industries.  Bill was of the Baptist Faith.  He loved his family, his puppy Buddy, playing golf, coaching baseball, and all sports in general.  Bill was a Georgia Bulldog Fan and supported the Stephens County Indians.

Family members include his wife, Janice Chastain Proctor; daughter and son-in-law, Tracey Proctor-Bennett and Tony of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Stacey Proctor of Toccoa; granddaughter and her husband, McKenzie Proctor Viola and Sean; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Sam Barboar of Angier, NC; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie and Tommy West of Cleveland, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Bennett and Marie Rowland.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Monday, February 27, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating.

Entombment will follow at Roselane Mausoleum with Military Honors provided by United States Army and Taps played by William Tucker.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Sean Viola, Erwin Carter, Aaron Weiland, Justin Sims, Willie Stephens, and Mark Thomas.  Ralph Cheek, P. G. Vaughn, Bruce Haddock and William Tucker will serve as honorary pallbearers.
