Mr. Richard Allen Griffin

Mr. Richard Allen Griffin, age 60 of Pine Street, Toccoa passed away Saturday, November 18,2023 at his residence.

A son of Wilma Alexander Vinson and the late Randy Griffin, he was born April 9,1963 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life.   He was a graduate of the Georgia School of the Deaf and was of the Baptist faith.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, loved lawn work, living life to the fullest and was an alien and Volkswagen collector.

In addition to this father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Randolph “Buster” Griffin, Johnny Hambrick and Joe Vinson and by two sisters, Cynthia Richard and Anita Singleton.

Survivors include his mother, Wilma Alexander Vinson of Toccoa; sons and daughter-in-law, Corey and Kitlyn Griffin of Honea Path, South Carolina and Brandon Reid of Gulf Port, Mississippi; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Evan Hammond of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Elizabeth Griffin, Aedyn and Addison Hammond; sisters, Tommie Brown of Eastanollee, Brenda Herron of Toccoa and Gail Crump of Martin; brother, Tim Vinson of Mt. Airy; step-mother, Joyce Griffin of Mt. Airy; his companion, Christina Nixon of Piedmont, South Carolina; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 21, 2023, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Ted Armour officiating.
