Mr. Lansing James “Skip” Gardner, Jr.

Mr. Lansing James “Skip” Gardner, Jr., age 75, of Toccoa passed away Tuesday, October 31,2023 at his home.

Born on July 23,1948, he was the son of the late Lansing James and Edith Winifred Luffman Gardner, Sr.

Mr. Gardner was a Master Ford Mechanic.  He was an avid builder and collector of model cars and trucks, who loved going to the drags, dirt track races and hot rod shows.  He was also a member of the Georgia East Coast Stangs.

Family members include his son and daughter-in law, Scott H. Gardner and Melissa of Winter Garden, FL; daughter, Holly J. Gardner Craig of Toccoa; grandchildren, Scott L. Gardner, Logan Taylor Gardner, Kinley Eva Craig, Kaylen Grace Craig, Kerragen Joelle Craig, and Kennedy Lansi Craig; siblings, Gary Lloyd Gardner, Carolyn Marie VanBrocklin, Francis Lyle Gardner, Ronald Theodore Gardner and Randy Allen Gardner;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Janice Ann Fetterly Gardner; sister, Bonnie Lou Lennox; and brother, Stephen Michael Gardner.

The family will be having a private visitation only.

Funeral services will be open to family and friends and will be held at one o’clock Saturday, November 11,2023 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers:  brother, Fran Gardner; son, Scott Gardner; and nephews, Bobby Lennox, Travis Gardner, Josh Van Brooklin and Sam Lennox.

Due to his love of mustangs, the Georgia East Coast Stangs will be leading the procession to Stephens Memorial Gardens.
