Mr. Johnny Ray Kimsey

Mr. Johnny Ray Kimsey, age 71 of Augusta and formerly of Toccoa passed away Friday, August 20, 2021 at the Augusta University Medical Center.

A son of the late John Terrell Kimsey and Clifford Shirley Kimsey, he was born September 5, 1949 in Habersham County, Georgia having lived a greater part of his life in Stephens County before moving to Augusta.  He was a 1968 graduate of Stephens County High School and attended Truett McConnell College.  He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served during the Vietnam War and was retired from Auto Zone Distribution.  He loved fishing and making jigs. He loved his family and loved attending his granddaughter’s softball games and his grandson’s baseball and football games.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Harper Kimsey, sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Gary Dover and baby brother, Ronnie Kimsey.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Billy Bennett of Augusta, Georgia; grandchildren, Savannah and Tyler Bennett; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Kathy Kimsey and Clifton and Debbie Kimsey both of Toccoa.

Funeral services will be Sunday, September 5, 2021, 1 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Kyle Johnson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, September 4, 2021, 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.  Due to the health and well-being of the community, masks are encouraged.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Johnny Ray Kimsey.
