Mr. Jerry Kenneth Holland

Mr. Jerry Kenneth Holland, age 71 of Toccoa, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Pruitt Health Toccoa after a three-year battle with Alzheimer Disease.

 

A son of the late John and Susie Chambers Holland, he was born September 29, 1951, in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life.   He was employed as a heavy equipment operator in road construction before his retirement.  He loved to hunt squirrel, deer, raccoon and rabbit in his younger years and in his later years enjoyed trout fishing.  Some of his bigger catches, he had mounted so he could enjoy looking at them and brag about his catch.  He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Caudell Holland and by a sister, Mildred Holland Smith.

 

Survivors include two sons, Ken Holland and Kris Holland of Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Lowell McNeal of Toccoa, Marlene and Stan Addington of Toccoa; Jean and Nelson Conner of Murrayville and Shelia and Dean Johnson of Toccoa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Carol Holland of Toccoa and Toby and Deb Holland of Fairburn; brother-in-law, Carl Smith of Senoia; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 11, 2023, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Roy Bainey and The Reverend Kyle Johnson officiating.  The following relatives will serve as pallbearers, Jacob Palmer, Brandon Palmer, Roger Holland, Brian Walters, Stacey Smith, Stanley Smith and John McNeal.

 

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from noon until the service time.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

 

The family would like to thank all the staff in the MSU Unit at Pruitt Health Toccoa for all the love and care you showed Jerry during his difficult time with this terrible disease.  Carolyn McNeal, his sister and guardian says that the staff could always get a smile from him even when she could not. From the bottom of her heart and beyond, may God bless each of you for the talents and the big heart you have for your patients.

 

Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Jerry Kenneth Holland.
