Mr. James Sylvester “Jim” Cross

Mr. James Sylvester “Jim” Cross, age 73, of Toccoa, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at his home.

Born September 13, 1949 in Clayton, GA, he was the son of the late James Cross and Ethel Bingham.

He was a member of Hill Street Baptist Church and was retired from Milliken and Company.  Jim was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam.

Family members include his sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan and Rachelle Cross of Toccoa, Brandon and Berenice Cross of Gainesville, Stephen and Hannah Cross of Toccoa, and Kevin Cross of Brazil; grandchildren, Ethan Cross, Ayden Cross, Vladimir Cross, Dylan Cross, and Aza Cross; brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Lynn Bingham; sister and brother-in-law, Mae and Earl Sellers; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Cross and Robert Cross.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Thursday, December 22, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock Friday, December 23, 2022 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Bruce Moore and the Rev. Paul Garrison officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the United States Army and V. F. W. Post 4346.
