Mr. James Edward “Jimbo” Ray

Mr. James Edward “Jimbo” Ray, age 67, of Toccoa, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born January 17, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas, he was the son of the late Joseph and Harlow Frances Brownd Ray.

Jim was self-employed owning and operating Jim Ray and Associates a real estate appraisal company for several years and he was of the Christian faith.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Jo Soares Ray of the home; a son, Jonathan Ray of Decatur, GA; a daughter, Melissa Ray of Colorado; step-daughter and her spouse, Traci and Kevin Turner of Dacula, GA; grandchildren, Ariel Krivocheev, Alexis Krivocheev, Shane Krivocheev, Eli Cook, Carli Jo Phillips, Candace Phillips, and Rheannon Bowens; great-grandchildren, Amara Jo Millwood and Ian Millwood; sisters and brothers-in-lawn, Barbara “BJ” Rowland and Mark and Sharron Ray Torkelson and Chris; his beloved dog, Watson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Ray.

The family will receive friends from 6pm – 8pm Friday, June 10, 2022.

Graveside services will be held at two o’clock, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Toccoa City Cemetery with the Rev. Brett Sanders and Mr. Jimmy Adams officiating.

Burial will follow.

The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Randy Williams, Tony Delaney, David Byargeon, Jimmy Adams, Mark Roland and Cory Ray.
