Mr. Irving Hamilton Whitworth

Mr. Irving Hamilton “Hamp” Whitworth, age 81, of Toccoa, passed away Friday,

February 21, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born August 14, 1938 in Franklin County, GA, he was the son of the late Roy Lee Whitworth and the late Katie Lou Holcomb Whitworth.

He was of the Baptist Faith and served six years with the Untied States Army National Guard. Hamp was self-employed and enjoyed agriculture and selling produce at the Stephens County Farmers Market and managing the Amvets Post 22.

Family members include his son, Mark Whitworth of Cincinnati OH; daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Sammy Murray and Susan and Robert Bell all of Toccoa; grandchildren, Rosemary Huff and Sarahbeth Huff.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Sue Crooks Whitworth and his son, Terry Hamilton Whitworth.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock Monday, February 24, 2020 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with Dr. Tommy Childress and Dr. Tim Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Robert Bell, Sammy Murray, Clinton Murray, Jerry Owenby, Joe Richardson, Bruce Pruitt, and Casey Keesee.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2pm – 5pm Sunday, and from 10 am until the service on Monday.
