Mr. DeLeon Langley

Mr. DeLeon “Ponce” Langley, age 73, of Eastanollee, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at his home.

Born October 2, 1947, in Florence County South Carolina, he was the son of the late Joseph “Joe” Beasley Langley and Rossie Bell Rebecca McCutchen Langley.

Mr. Langley was a self-employed Truck Driver and a member of Tom’s Creek Baptist Church.  DeLeon “Ponce” was known for his stories and love for his family.  He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone no matter the circumstance.  He always remained positive even through all his sickness and was generally found with a huge smile that would always light up the room.

Family members include his daughters and sons-in-law, Gail Truett and Mike Howington of Greenwood, SC, Deanne and Allen Thompson of Eastanollee, GA, and Kim and Scott Carroll of Temple, GA; son Steve Carroll and Barbara Pricthard of Toccoa; grandchildren, Nikki Truett, Justin Truett, Zac Carroll, Kylee Caudell, Dacen Cash, Lexie Fulbright, Saren Carroll, and Brianna Carroll; great-grandchildren, Josiah Goldman, Anakin Goldman, Lincoln Goldman, Anna Faye Grace Evans, and Cade Caudell; brothers, J. M. (Lei) Langley, Carl Langley, and Robert Langley; sister, Evelyn Lee; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Chambers Langley; a daughter Lynn Cash; and sisters, Estelle Robinson and Pearl McClam.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Thursday, May 13, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Friday, May 14, 2021 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Reverend Stacey Penland and the Reverend Doctor Tommy Childress officiating.

Entombment will follow at Roselane Cemetery Mausoleum.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Rocky Fulbright, Allen Thompson, Cade Caudell, Glen McClam, Scott Carroll, and Steve Carroll.
