Motorcycle crashes in South Carolina ending chase from Georgia

Late at night this week the vicinity of two-lane U-S 123 just inside the South Carolina line from Georgia was littered with debris from the crash of a motorcycle.

An Oconee deputy sheriff just before midnight Wednesday discovered the motorcycle operator in a pile of leaves and was able to identify him as Toccoa resident Jamey Ron Addison.

The deputy learned that the sheriff’s office in Habersham County, Georgia had chased an orange motorcycle, but ended the chase when the motorcycle crossed into Oconee County in South Carolina.

Motorcyclist Addison was taken to the Prisma Oconee Memorial Hospital, treated for injuries, and jailed at the Oconee Detention Center where he was served a warrant alleging fugitive from justice.
