McFarland named NGTC’s EAGLE winner

A Toccoa woman has been named the 2022 Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education.

North Georgia Technical College named Kelly McFarland the winner earlier this week.

NGTC Adult Education Instructor Jackie Morgan says, “Kelly is a motivated lady willing to work hard for anything. She was determined to obtain her GED and she accomplished it. We are so happy and proud of her work.”

McFarland will represent the college at the Dinah Culbreath Wayne EAGLE Leadership Institute in March.

McFarland is pursuing a degree in horticulture at North Georgia Technical College.

The Leadership Institute recognizes and honors those students who have demonstrated superior achievement in adult education classes and programs.

EAGLE is the first statewide program in the nation that recognizes and rewards excellence among students enrolled in adult education programs.

This student recognition program is designed to create greater awareness of educational opportunities that are available in local communities across the state and to foster greater involvement in lifelong learning pursuits.

The Technical College System of Georgia Office of Adult Education sponsors the annual Dinah Culbreath Wayne EAGLE Leadership Institute.
