Mary Catherine Moore Andrews Fry

Mary Catherine Moore Andrews Fry went home to be with her Lord and precious family members on August 25, 2021.

She was born on February 20, 1936 in Toccoa, Georgia to Odis and Willie Mae Moore. Catherine as she was known grew up in a loving family and graduated from Toccoa High School in 1954.  Shortly after graduation, she married the late James Edward Andrews and lived for many years in the Mize community where she and her husband were active members of the Sunnyside Baptist Church. Her faith was strong throughout her life and she later attended First United Methodist church when married to the late Malcolm L. Fry.

Always a smart and capable woman, she worked many jobs as an administrative assistant at Wright Manufacturing, Snyder Brothers, WNEG radio, Toccoa Casket Company and her husband’s business Currahee Sash and Door.  She was blessed with a photographic memory for names, numbers and other information.  In the 1980’s she achieved her dream of becoming a real estate agent. During the time she worked for Memory Realty she won sales awards including Million Dollar Club on numerous occasions.  After Memory closed she was affiliated with Century 21 Community Realty. Besides her family, this was her true passion and she loved showing customers around beautiful Northeast Georgia her lifelong home.

Catherine was an exemplary mother to her three children, Lynne Andrews Holly (Randy), Karen Andrews Brown (Monroe) and Douglas Andrews. She is also survived by her siblings, Jean Cash, Rodney Moore (Edna), and Garry Moore.  She was predeceased by her brother Bill Moore.  She has 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition she was a stepmother and grandmother to Mr. Fry’s family.

One of her joys was being a charter member of the PBX club of Toccoa, where she made lifelong friends.  She was also a member of the VFW and Elk’s auxiliary.  She enjoyed old Southern cooking, vintage TV shows, history and genealogy, 70’s music, gospel music and spending time with her family at her lake house.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunnyside Baptist Church Growth Fund or Broad River Baptist Church Building Fund.

Services will be held Sunday August 29, 2021 at 3:00 pm in Whitlock Mortuary Chapel followed by private burial at Stephens Memorial Gardens.
