Marti Mulligan Announces bid for Probate Judge

Local paralegal Marti Mulligan has announced her intention to run for Stephens County Probate Judge.

She sat down with WNEG radio this week to discuss her announcement, and said she made the decision several years ago.

She said she offers legal experience gained as a paralegal in her mother, Debbie Whitlock’s office, and has familiarity with the workings of the Probate Court office. She added that her affection and respect for sitting Probate Judge Glenda Ernest played a large part in her decision to run, and in how she would run the office if elected.

She said she has dealt, in her work in the legal field, with people going through difficult times, so that aspect of the job of Probate Judge would not be completely unfamiliar, and she said that she feels this is the direction she is supposed to take in life.
