Macey Frady wins SCH Christmas Card Contest

Earlier this week, Stephens County Hospital Foundation announced 4th grade Toccoa Elementary student Macey Frady, 10, as the winner of the annual Christmas Card contest.

At a presentation Monday morning at Toccoa Elementary, school and hospital officials joined Frady’s family in congratulating her on her winning drawing that will serve as the front of the Hospital’s 2023 Christmas Card.

With the exception of a brief break due to COVID, the Stephens County Hospital Foundation has sponsored the contest since 2013.

Pamela Jones with the Foundation said, “We are thrilled to partner with Toccoa Elementary School each year and to support the art program at the school.” She added that art instructor Timothy Mitchell is instrumental in assisting with the contest each year and said it is always difficult to select a winner from all the wonderful entries.

Jones explained that the Christmas drawing by the winning student is used for the front of the hospital’s Christmas Card, and the artist’s information as well as information about the Foundation is printed on the back of the card.

Art instructor Timmothy Mitchell explained the process of the Christmas Card Contest.

He also talked about the support the arts program received from the Stephen County School District and joined Jones in saying that choosing a winner is difficult.

Also on hand for the presentation was Stephens County School Superintendent Dr. Connie Franklin and Stephens County Hospital Director of Marketing, Public Relations and Community Engagement Joley Strickland.
