Lt. Governor Visits Toccoa

Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle was in Toccoa yesterday as part of his campaigning tour across Georgia after announcing his candidacy for governor back in April.

Cagle was at X-Factor Grill for a meet and greet and the community was invited to come out and have breakfast with the Lt. Governor.

Cagle told WNEG News that he was excited to come to Toccoa.

“We’re excited to be in Toccoa,” said Cagle. “This is a community that’s been very good to me as Lt. Governor. We’re now in the Gubernatorial race and it’s going well. A wonderful turn out and the opportunity to meet so many of our friends and our supporters this morning. It’s great to see Stephens County and the region doing so much better.”

Visitors were able to have one-on-one conversation with Cagle and then he addressed the crowd, discussing what his priorities as governor would be.

One of his main points was on improving infrastructure throughout the state to keep up with population growth.

Cagle also told the crowd he’s committed to creating 500,000 jobs, cutting taxes by $100 million and changing the education system so that it’s more inclusive of students who don’t pursue a liberal arts degree.
